NCC works towards 5G network policy with analysis of radiation

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says its working with multi-sector stakeholders to establish a 5G network policy to harness the benefits, reports CommunicationsWeek. NCC CEO Umar Garba Danbatta told an ICT forum that NCC is working to establish a policy to foster 5G.  He said there will be an environmental impact analysis on the effect of Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) on human health. 

Danbatta said the economic benefits of 5G to Nigeria after the Covid-19 pandemic will be huge, especially as almost all businesses and activities of government are migrating and offering their services online. He said that Nigeria's vibrant youth population stands to benefit immensely from the deployment of 5G.
