Nearly half of Australian children own or use a mobile phone

Nearly half of Australian children aged 6 to 13 own or use a mobile phone, according to Roy Morgan data from the Australian Communication and Media Authority (ACMA). The study found that in 2018, around 32 percent of Australian children owned a mobile phone with a further 16 percent having access to one. One in four kids aged 6 to 7 had or used a mobile phone.
