Nearly half of US web homes hold back over privacy concerns

Privacy concerns have led members of nearly half of US internet households to stop using online banking, shopping or using social media, according to a National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) survey of 41,000 households conducted in July 2015. The Commerce Department agency's report found that 45 percent of internet homes had refrained from at least one of the three activities and 30 percent from at least two in the previous 12 months.
