NEC conducts HEMS trial in Sweden

NEC began trials of a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) in partnership with the Lulea University of Technology's (LTU) Centre of Distance-spanning Technology (CDT) and Skelleftea Kraft, a Swedish power company, as part of Skelleftea city's 'Sense Smart City Project'. The trial will measure the overall power consumed by a number of individual households and selected appliances until May 2013 in Skelleftea city. One of the main goals of the trial is to measure the effects that visualisation of energy consumption has on tenants and how to improve and maintain their motivation to conserve
