NEC releases platform that uses AI to optimise allocation of network resources

Friday 9 February 2018 | 14:43 CET | News
NEC launched Context-aware Service Controller, a platform that uses AI to automatically classify IoT services based on the characteristics of the traffic that flows into a network and optimises the allocation of network resources by controlling the networks for each service. This new platform belongs to NEC's advanced portfolio of AI technologies, "NEC the Wise." By using "NEC Advanced Analytics – Rapid machine learning" software, equipped with deep learning technology, the platform extracts traffic characteristics based on the traffic's time-series data, automatically classifies IoT services and visualises the utilisation status of networks for each service, the company said in a press release.

Furthermore, the new platform achieves network optimisation through bandwidth control and priority control of networks for each classified service. NEC will display the new platform at Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona, Spain, from 26 February to 1 March.
