Nedbank's MobiMoney pilot attracts 50,000 users

South Africa's Nedbank's new mobile account MobiMoney has seen more than 50,000 people sign up in less than eight weeks in the Soweto, Tembisa, Mamelodi and Soshanguve areas where it was piloted. They have conducted more than 185,600 transactions worth a ZAR 59 million. The main ones have been money transfers, withdrawals and deposits, as well as airtime purchases and DStv account payments, all of which are free of charge to the customer.
