Netcity Telecom accused of creating monopoly in Bucharest

Romania's National Association of Internet Service Providers (ANISP) accused Romanian company UTI Systems' unit Netcity Telecom of creating a monopoly in the capital Bucharest with abusive tariff increases, according to local newspaper Daily Business. ANISP told local telecom regulator Ancom about the irregularities it found in the creation of the project Netcity, a metropolitan fibre network for the city of Bucharest. ANISP said that UTI Systems, through its unit Netcity Telecom, uses abusive practices through its 49-year concession contract signed in June 2008 with Bucharest authorities for
