NetCologne reaches 1.6 Gbps in G.fast live test with ZTE

Thursday 1 June 2017 | 10:11 CET | News
German operator NetCologne and ZTE have demonstrated speeds of over 1 Gbps using G.fast technology at the Anga Com conference. Using ZTE DSLAMs, NetCologne first tested earlier this year G.fast with up to 106 MHz and achieved speeds of 850 Mbps. It's now scaled up to 212 MHz and reached speeds of 1.6 Gbps download and 0.2 Gbps upload in a live test outside the lab. NetCologne plans to roll out this year G.fast on its FTTB network covering 260,000 households. A further expansion is planned for later.
