Netflix to take 24% of pay-TV market in Brazil this year

SVOD platforms (dominated by Netflix) has grown by three new subscribers for each subscriber lost in 2017, reports Teletime, citing a study from Ampere, presented at the PayTV Forum 2018 in Sao Paulo. The strong base decline registered in Latin America is strongly linked to the economic crisis, especially in markets such as Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, but this movement happened in parallel to the growth of a new TV distribution model.
