There are around 320,000 active users of mobile payments over NFC in the Netherlands, according to figures from the payment providers association Betaalvereniging Nederland, reported by Tweakers. The figures are as of 01 November and are based on bank accounts linked to apps allowing for payments.

Seven banks in the Netherlands already offer contactless payment in combination with an Android app on a smartphone with NFC. Alongside the three biggest banks ABN Amro, ING and Rabobank, these are Bunq, SNS, ASN and Regio Bank.
