NetOne board immediately fires CEO again after reinstatement

Monday 13 July 2020 | 10:28 CET | News
Zimbabwean operator NetOne CEO Lazarus Muchenje's tenure ended after he was fired barely 24 hours after he was reinstated to the position, Bulawayo24 reported. Muchenje had been suspended earlier this year to pave the way for investigations into suspected criminal abuse of office and fraud, but a successful court challenge led to his reinstatement on 09 July. The board notified him on 10 July of its decision to sack him, citing provisions of the Labour Act.
