New Oi CEO Gonjito says asset sale is likely

The new CEO of Oi, Bayard Gontijo, told Reuters that the Brazilian telecommunications operator could sell assets acquired as part of its merger with Portugal Telecom. According to Gontijo, in order to pay debts, the company is looking to sell non-core assets, including mobile telephony towers, real estate and its Africatel unit, which is valued at around BRL 4 billion.
