New Zealand adds 15,000 UFB users in Q3

New Zealand added 15,500 more ultra fast broadband (UFB) end users in the third quarter, bringing the total of connected users to 55,000, up 39 percent from the previous quarter, with the national uptake going to over 10 percent from 7 percent, according to the Government's Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) and Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI). The total number of homes passed went to 536,000. The government wants to extend UFB coverage from a target of 75 percent to 80 percent of New Zealanders, funded from the Future Investment Fund.
