New Zealand ends 2014 with nearly 70,000 UFB connections

Wednesday 11 February 2015 | 13:18 CET | News
The rate at which New Zealand consumers are signing up for the government's Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) network is accelerating with uptake quadrupling in the past two years, according to Communications Minister Amy Adams. National uptake figures reached 11.3 percent as of December 2014, more than double the December 2013 rate and more than four times what it was at the end of 2012. Over 43 percent of the infrastructure build is now complete, making the project seven percent ahead of schedule, Adams added.
