New Zealand to put NZD 22.2 mln into new CERT

The government of New Zealand will be investing NZD 22.2 million from Budget 2016 to set up a new national Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT). The CERT will be responsible for monitoring, tracking and advising on cyber security incidents or attacks affecting the country. It will be solely dedicated to cyber security and will be the central component of New Zealand's cyber security architecture. The initiative, which will initially be set up as part of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, is expected to go into operation in the first quarter of next year.
