Next Thing raises over USD 674,000 for Raspberry Pi rival

US start-up Next Thing has raised over USD 674,000 in a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to produce the Chip micro-PC, essentially a credit card-sized chip computer similar to the Raspberry Pi, that will sell for only USD 9, according to various press reports. Early versions of the chip will feature a 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of memory. It will run the Linux operating system and connect to a standard keyboard and monitor. Unlike the USD 35 Raspberry Pi, the Chip will support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. The product's cost will depend on the hardware configuration sought. Next
