Nextel adopts vEPC with Ericsson

Nextel and Ericsson have partnered for the deployment of the Virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) in Brazil. The virtualization solution will contribute to the expansion of mobile data processing capacity on Nextel's 4G network and will leave the operator ready for the arrival of 5G in Brazil. Besides bringing a better data traffic experience to users, vEPC will also help prepare Nextel for the cloud world. With the implementation, Nextel stops investing in physical equipment and now has a data centre infrastructure with virtualization and evolution for the cloud. Ericsson started this
