Nicaragua preparing to update 1995 telecom act

Wednesday 17 January 2018 | 13:39 CET | News
Nicaraguan communications regulator Telcor is preparing to update the country's 1995 General Law of Telecommunications this year, reports local daily La Prensa. A consultant will be hired to supervise the overhaul of the Act, backed by funds from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), with a view to "ensuring fair and open access" to telecommunications services, introducing the right to number portability and regulating the inflated costs of mobile telephony, said the report.
