NigComSat launches direct-to-home service

Nigerian Communication Satellite (NigComSat) has formally launched its Direct-to-Home (DTH) television services by airing programmes by its first commercial customer, OVY Network, a Botswana-based start-up DTH operator, reports Vanguard. The service was launched on 14 December in Abuja in partnership with the China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC). OVY Networks CEO George Kavameje said it was exciting to partner with NigComSat and the CGWIC to reach people in Sub-Saharan Africa with content using the NigComSat-1R satellite.
