Niger govt approves USD 107 mln to bring connectivity to over 2,000 villages

The Niger government has launched the Smart Village Project for Rural Growth and Digital Inclusion (PVI), which aims to connect 2,111 villages to mobile and broadband internet services, Ecofin reported. The sum of USD 107 million will be disbursed by the government for this project, set to cover more than six years, said Ibrahima Guimba Saidou, the director general of the National Agency for the Information Society (ANSI).
