Niger regulator fines mobile operators over quality of service

Friday 27 December 2019 | 09:14 CET | News
Niger's telecom authority Arcep has imposed fines totalling XOF 2.57 billion (approximately EUR 3.91 million) on mobile operators Airtel, Moov, Orange and Niger Telecoms, reports Niger Inter. The decision was based on an assessment of quality of service (QoS) for 2G and 3G services, carried out by the regulator during the second half of the year. An appeal is allowed, although the operators will still be required to comply with the ruling during the appeal process.
