Nigerian govt says Twitter's operation not legally permissible until it incorporates locally

Nigerian information minister Lai Mohammed says the operation of Twitter in the Nigerian social media space "is not legally permissible", The Guardian reported. Mohammed said that the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020 does not permit foreign companies to do business in Nigeria if not registered. Mohammed appeared before a House of Representatives investigative hearing and said Twitter was used to disseminate information that endangers the life and security of Nigerians and causes disunity in the country.
