Nigerian mobile outages reach 16,000 in 7 months

The Nigerian government says there were about 16,000 reported outages by mobile network operators from January to July, This Day reported. Communications minister Isa Ibrahim Pantami said the outages were due to fibre cuts, access denial and theft. The minister told a public forum on vandalism of power and telecommunications infrastructure that the protection of critical infrastructural is key to the nation's security, economic vitality, public health and safety.
