Nigerian parliamentary lower chamber rejects lifting Twitter suspension

Nigeria's House of Representatives has rejected lifting the suspension of Twitter, but asked the government to continue dialogue with the platform to create room for amicable settlement, The Independent reported. Toby Okechukwu, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House, had suggested an amendment to one of the recommendations, asking the government to recognise the negative effect of the suspension on members of the public who depend on the platform for their livelihood, and lift the suspension.
