Nigerian SIM swap centres get go-ahead alongside extension of NIN enrolment licences

Nigeria has given mobile network operators (MNOs) approval to establish dedicated SIM Swap Centres in Local Government Areas (LGAs). This follows the fourth Review Meeting of the ministerial task force on NIN-SIM registration. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Nigeria Identity Management Commission (NIMC) said approval was given to extend the tenure of NIN Enrolment Agent Licences for MNOs from one to five years, in consideration of their satisfactory performance and subject to continuous monitoring.
