Nigerian telecom subscribers spend NGN 261 bln on airtime sales in August

Telecommunication subscribers spent at least NGN 261 billion on airtime in August, according to figures from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). The monthly subscriber data from NCC also shows that there were 174.67 million active GSM subscribers with MTN, Globacom, Airtel and 9mobile in August. The telecom companies' ARPU amounted to NGN 1,490 per month.
