Nigerian telecoms trade union warns of 3-day strike in protest against sackings and casualisation

There may be disruption to telephony and data services from 16 June as the Private Telecommunications and Communications Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PTECSSAN) insists on a three-day warning strike, CommunicationsWeek reported.  The general secretary of the association, Okonu Abdullahi, said the industrial action is in protest against arbitrary sackings and casualisation. He said subcontracting or outsourcing could no longer be allowed to continue, as it had short-changed workers.
