Nixon to replace O'Neill as BCE chairman

Bell Canada (BCE) has announced that chairman Thomas O'Neill would retire at an AGM scheduled for 28 April. The board plans to nominate Gordon M Nixon as chairman. A director of BCE since November 2014. Nixon was president and CEO of the Royal Bank of Canada from 2001 to 2014, and CEO of RBC Dominion Securities from 1999 to 2001. He is a member of the Order of Canada and a Director of George Weston and of BlackRock. BCE revealed the change in leadership in its fourth quarter 2015 and full year results.
