Nkom to map dark fibre to support data centre sector

The Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communication said it has commissioned electronic communications authority Nkom to draw up a map of dark fibre in the country and analyse the market for it. This is part of plans to ensure provision for growth industries, as set out in the digital agenda, said minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen. Access to dark fibre is essential to promote 'green' data centres, he added.
