NoGIG, Strabag start fibre-laying in Waldviertel

The fibre-optic broadband construction pilot financed by the state Lower Austria and managed by noGIG (Lower Austrian Fibre-Optics Infrastructure Company) is running according to schedule. Construction has begun in the region Waldviertel, in which the state will invest a total of EUR 21.1 million by the end of 2018. In the municipalities Ludweis-Aigen, Gross-Siegharts and Raabs, the 300-kilometre network will provide fibre-optic broadband to about 1,000 access points (households and businesses). Construction work is being carried out by Strabag.
