Nokia inks ICT deal with IEEE Lebanon

Nokia and IEEE Lebanon, an educational and scientific nonprofit organisation, have signed an agreement to collaborate on various projects and events to contribute to the development of ICT industry and university students in the country, reports CommsMEA. Lebanese mobile operator Alfa has sponsored the programmes to enable the collaboration to support growth and advancement of the ICT industry in the country.

Nokia and IEEE aim to contribute to the development of the Lebanese telecommunications by modernising ‘hard infrastructure’, such as the telecom network towers, and building fibre networks, and ‘soft infrastructure’ such as imparting technical trainings to university students as well as young professionals. The companies will organise trainings, events, seminars, conferences at their company premises.
