Nokia, KT demo LTE-M prototype for M2M communication

At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Nokia and South Korean telecommunications provider KT have jointly demonstrated an LTE-M prototype for M2M communication. The technology links together a large number of wearables, cars and smart grid elements, and ensures more than 10 years of battery life, providing four times more coverage than conventional LTE, the companies said. This pre-5G technology enables the connection of a massive numbers of sensors, even in remote or poor coverage locations.
