Nokia launches predictive optimisation service for IP video

Nokia has claimed an industry first with its new predictive optimisation service for video and high-bandwidth applications launched at the IBC 2016 event in Amsterdam. The service is designed to simulate the impact of changing network conditions on video delivery and the mobile viewing experience. Nokia said the aim is to help mobile operators prioritise investments to address expected network bottlenecks and demand in high-traffic hotspots such as large congregations of users at events, where Mobile Edge Computing can be used to enhance the subscriber experience.
