Nokia simplifies interopability with plug-and-play Multivendor ONU Connect

Nokia has introduced a new system aimed at simplifying multi-vendor interoperability for Optical Network Units (ONUs). Nokia noted that it usually takes 3-6 months to introduce a new ONU. With its new Multivendor ONU Connect, this time is sharply reduced. The virtualised system lets operators connect any ONU, regardless of vendor, with a plug-and-play functionality. Nokia said the system eliminates integration efforts, management complexity and Passive Optical Networks (PON) interopability challenges that impact the ability to scale.
