Nokia to buy back up to EUR 1.25 bln in shares

Wednesday 18 June 2014 | 15:47 CET | News
Nokia announced plans to start a share repurchase programme. Shareholders gave the company authorisation for the plan at the AGM 17 June, and the board has decided to buy up to 370 million shares, or the equivalent of EUR 1.25 billion. The share repurchase is part of the EUR 5 billion capital optimisation plan at the company started with the proceeds of selling its mobile phone business to Microsoft. The share buyback will start after Nokia's Q2 report, scheduled for 24 July, and the repurchase authorisation is valid until 17 December 2015.
