Nominet reports strong demand for .uk domains

Internet registry for .uk domain names Nominet has announced that .uk registrations grew by 10.5 percent over the past 12 months to total of 97 million .uk domains at end-September. The data shows that .uk has maintained its position as the second largest country code registry worldwide after Germany's .de. Nominet's new Domain Business report shows that preference for .uk remains strong with 81 percent of those surveyed saying they prefer .uk sites when presented with a choice of a .uk or .com in search results. Meanwhile, Nominet is rolling out multi-year registration period for .uk
