NordNet ends WiMAX service in Seine-Maritime

France Telecom regional subsidiary NordNet will stop providing WiMAX services in the departement of Seine-Maritime on 30 June, one day before a new owner takes possession of the Numeriseine wireless data network it has been using, writes Echos du Net. The county council invested EUR 7.5 million to bring internet access to areas unreached by ADSL networks. The network comprises 36 WiMAX and 82 Wi-Fi base stations used by over 800 subscribers in 261 towns and villages. NordNet provided WiMAX service and Infosat Wi-Fi.
