Northern Swedish broadband projects get SEK 600 mln EU funds

Swedish postal and telecoms regulator PTS said the national Agency for Economic and Regional Growth has mapped out requirements for network connectivity in northern Sweden and is offering financial support for their development. The total budget under EU funding is SEK 600 million and applications can be made for up to 50 percent of the cost of a project. The funding is available in upper Norrland county, mid-Norrland and northern Central Sweden. Both public and private providers may apply for subsidies, and the deadline is 01 July.
