Norway proposes legislation on net neutrality

The Norwegian government has proposed amendments to the Electronic Communications Act to establish a legal framework for net neutrality. Minister of Transport Ketil Solvik-Olsen said it is important that the Internet is available and works equally for all, and net neutrality and access to resources on the internet is fundamental to the economic, social, cultural and democratic development of society. The proposed amendments aim to ensure that the internet remains open and non-discriminatory for all types of communication and content distribution. The proposal is now open for public comment
