Norway to prioritise essential mobile voice calls from July

The Norwegian postal and telecoms authority, PT, has issued a reminder that from 01 July, mobile telecommunications companies will start prioritising voice traffic from critical phone numbers during crises. People working at organisations providing essential services can apply to PT to be granted priority status. The idea came about after Storm Dagmar, and up to 100,000 users will be designated as priority numbers. Priority users must be involved in security and preparedness, or be involved in activities essential to society. Priority can only be given to business numbers, so anyone involved
