Norwegian broadband subsidies bring broadband to over 17,000 homes in 2018

Norwegian communications regulator Nkom said parliament approved NOK 149.7 million in funding for broadband expansion in 2018, to enable provision of new or better services to 17,234 homes in areas where development is not commercially viable. It said local and county councils have provided NOK 180 million in support, private financial contributions reached NOK 98 million, and local applicant investments reached approximately NOK 43 million.
