Norwegian broadband subsidies to be handled by county councils instead of Nkom

The Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communication said that county councils are to take over a large part of the task of administering subsidies for broadband in places where it is not commercially viable. Communications regulator Nkom has been managing the state funding since 2014, and this has worked well, said the ministry, but county councils have said this method is too bureaucratic and demands too many resources.
