Norwegian Consumer Council warns against rural digital divide in broadband speed

The Norwegian Consumer Council says the government needs to raise its speed requirement for its obligatory broadband provision plan, in order to avoid a digital divide between urban and rural areas. Digitisation Minister is proposing universal access to broadband at 10 Mbps or 20 Mbps. Director Inger Liser Blyverket said that the government had set a goal of universal 100 Mbps service, so this proposal sets the bar too low.
