Norwegian government discusses security requirements with mobile network operators

The Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communication said it and regulator Nkom held a meeting with Telenor, Telia and Ice on 25 January regarding security regulations for the telecoms sector. The ministry said a new security law entered force on 01 January and allows the possibility of new measures in line with developments. The government has not made any decision in this regard, it said, but is considering clarifying requirements for equipment providers, in order to reduce vulnerabilities in the Norwegian network.
