Norwegian govt applies penalty points to driving licences for using mobile phone at wheel

The Norwegian government will start applying penalty points to the licences of motorists who break the law by using mobile phones while driving. Using hand-held phones at the wheel is prohibited but few respect the law, said the Ministry of Transport and Communication. From 01 January 2019, illegal use of a phone while driving will be punished by two penalty points on the driving licence, or four points on a provisional licence.
