Norwegian govt issues strategy to make public data available for commercial services

The Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communication said the government aims to make it easier for businesses, researchers, entrepreneurs, journalists and other individuals to access public authority data, in order to spread knowledge and devise more effective services. Applications include town planning and finding travel routes. Minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen said the government has brought out a strategy for opening up transportation sector information in a way that protects privacy.
