Nos needs 200,000 football subs for break-even - analyst

If Portuguese operator Nos decides to keep all the national football TV rights on an exclusive basis it will need 200,000 new subscribers from 2017 to achieve the break-even point for the investment in football, according to an analysis by CaixaBI, reports Jornal de Negocios. Nos has the exclusive rights for Benfica home matches and Benfica TV from next season, as well as the rights to Sporting games and another eight clubs from 2017, as part of a total investment of over EUR 900 million in 12 years.
