Nos stops offering Wap Billing to new customers

Wednesday 15 January 2020 | 13:02 CET | News

Portuguese operator Nos has ceased providing services via Wap Billing, with the aim of reinforcing protection of its customers and transparency of services. Wap Billing allows customers with an active mobile phone and services to pay for services and digital content from third parties through web pages. This service has been prone to fraud by third parties who have caused damage to Nos customers, even though the operator always reacted by deactivating fraudulent subscriptions and returning the sum unduly charged.

The decision applies to new subscriptions, so Nos customers who have voluntarily subscribed to Wap Billing services will continue to be able to use them as they have until now.
