Nostracom picks Aperto for Wimax deployment in Andalucia

Spanish fixed wireless operator Nostracom Telecomunicaciones has selected Aperto Networks to deploy a Wimax network in the Autonomous Community of Andalucia. The network will cover rural areas in the Almeria, Granada, Jaen and Malaga regions. Providing data transfer speeds of up to 20 Mbps, the network also supports carrier-to-carrier infrastructures. Additionally, Nostracom has teamed up with fixed and mobile Wimax base stations developer Aperto Networks and technology developer Selesta Networks to develop a Wimax testing and research centre.
