NRK happy with DAB reception up to 50 km from coast

Friday 19 August 2016 | 12:07 CET | News
Reception for Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) radio up to 50 kilometres from the coast is good, said Norwegian national public broadcaster NRK on its website, citing a report that it had submitted to the Ministry of Culture. The aim is to ensure that the coastal fishing fleet and other, small vessels can listen to DAB when they are out at sea, particularly so that they can keep abreast of weather reports. NRK said it undertook several measurement trips along the Norwegian coast, in conjunction with the the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue (Redningsselskapet).
